i’m Kate and i created hookupology because i want to put the humanity
back in hookups
my story
for a long time, i was a huge partier (cue montage of me on elevated surfaces), big participant in hookup culture, and would never dare call myself a feminist (i.e. “i’m not like other girls”).
not only were all of my hookups orgasmless *sigh*, but I also experienced a whole lot of grey, non consensual experiences.
after i was sexually assaulted, i took time away from the culture to really heal and understand both my experiences and the bigger cultural factors that allowed them to happen.
p.s. patriarchy, p.s.s. I now am a feminist.
after a lot of education, tears, and therapy...
I want to change shit :)
my method
it is estimated that 20-25% of women in college experience sexual violence, and most women aren’t orgasming - eff that! Also, there’s just some weird rules in hookup culture that I think make us all feel shitty - like not saying hi to someone you were inside of the previous night…guilty?
